Summary
The Director, RGC Communications & Marketing, will be responsible for leading internal/external communications and strategic brand marketing efforts for the RGC. As the RGC evolves, so does their need for a distinct brand identity, dedicated communications support and external visibility management. This role will deploy marketing expertise to craft a unique, authentic and insights-driven external brand for the RGC as their business development, participant/collaborator recruitment and potential patient-facing activities accelerate. This role would also lead external announcements and materials development around new RGC collaborations, publications and other milestones, as well as serve as a liaison for incorporating the RGC into Regeneron's larger corporate story/reputation. Finally, this role will work closely with RGC leadership and HR business partners to develop, plan and execute RGC internal communications programs that keep this special team engaged and invigorated.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the direct-to-consumer genetics and / or digital health business and will bring expertise in integrated marketing, market research & strategy, digital marketing, crisis communications and healthcare media relations

The successful candidate will join a high-performing Corporate Communications & Citizenship team, which thinks strategically and executes at a high level to support our fast-growing company and unique culture -- where colleagues are passionate about their work and our mission to bring important new medicines to patients in need. The team is focused on developing strategies and programs in four key areas: building a strong corporate reputation for Regeneron, sustaining culture and driving engagement through employee communications, and entrenching corporate citizenship as core to Regeneron's identity - all while building understanding and support for our company, pipeline and science.

Responsibilities
Work directly with CC&C and RGC leadership to run strategic digital marketing, media relations and employee communications for the RGC
Develop external brand identity, voice and materials specific to the RGC and based on deep audience and sector research
Build and execute plans for integrated brand launch and continuous engagement
Lead internal and external communications around key milestones
Lead reactive and proactive strategic media engagement for the RGC; mine for new story angles, train spokespeople and prepare for interviews
Establish RGC leadership platforms and identify/manage external visibility for executives
Work closely with the RGC business development team to identify new collaborations to highlight; prepare creative materials to support collaboration efforts; and work directly with partners to create engaging and accurate materials
Partner with various leaders and teams across the company to integrate RGC objectives and messages to larger corporate narrative and brand
Manage and/or influence internal and external resources (team members, freelancers, agencies, budgets) to support and execute on our RGC communications priorities
Stay on top of trends in industry, genetics, consumer marketing and employee engagement to help educate our audiences and advance our work
Develop and track metrics to assess the effectiveness of our communications/marketing programs
Work closely with other internal and external partners in CC&C to further support group goals and early R&D communications

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree
Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience developing and managing compelling, engaging internal/external communications and marketing initiatives.
Passion for science and patient impact; curiosity and desire to learn.
Relevant knowledge and experience in market research, integrated digital and mobile marketing strategy, storytelling and content creation. Experience working with digital media and formats (intranets, video, mobile, etc.).
Proven competency in strategic communications and planning; direct experience with media relations, including crisis communications scenarios.
Deep scientific understanding; experience in genetics / consumer genetics space
Excellent writer and storyteller; superior verbal communication skills; ability to translate complex genetic research with a varied, thoughtful and creative approach for different audiences.
Ability to navigate ambiguity in a fast-growing company and determine priorities based on business/group/external context; confidence to share new ideas; strong influencer and relationship builder.
Ability to inspire agency partners and manage associated resources and budget.
Detail-oriented; strong organizational, prioritization, and project management skills.
Strong collaborator with the ability to seek and value input. High level of professionalism and confidence to work effectively with employees from all levels of the organization, including senior leaders, functional managers, research scientists and the general employee population.
Proven success working in a fast-paced environment requiring daily flexibility and continuous multi-tasking. Ability to operate with a keen sense of urgency and a results-oriented mindset.
Preferred experience:
Previous experience working for a company in genetics, biopharma or related industry.
Previous marketing agency, PR/communications agency and/or relevant corporate experience.
