Job Description:

This position will be critical to provide clear medical analysis of external innovation and business development opportunities for our Neuroscience portfolio.

The incumbent will provide support to the Medical preparation for new Neurology launches working alongside Asset Medical leads. As part of the TA Neuroscience Medical lead team will support medical planning at global and local level to ensure coordination across assets. Provides medical guidance and expertise across organization and externally on a specified scope of Franchise products/projects.

Main responsibilities and tasks

Tasks
  • Actively drive the medical evaluation of external innovation opportunities and contribute to designing the TA External Innovation strategy
    • Evaluate the unmet medical need and value proposition for new assets in collaboration with the commercial and clinical development teams
    • Seize key opportunities to expand Ipsen footprint in the Neuroscience TA through interactions with internal and external stakeholders
    • Create with the cross functional-team a ‘Think Tank' to Advise on the search strategy for Areas of unmet need in Rare Diseases.


  • In collaboration with cross TA colleagues design and maintain the operating model and deliverables for medical evaluation to provide timely support to the external innovation efforts
    • Identify opportunities to ensure a comprehensive and expedited medical evaluation of new assets, including the utilization of external resources


  • In collaboration with cross TA colleagues forecasting framework for medical resources and external costs to support accurate business case evaluation and ensure Medical Affairs readiness to integrate and launch new assets
    • Establish a strategic medical resource forecasting framework for Neuroscience assets
    • Incorporate knowledge from BD cross-functional team and selected GMA stakeholders
  • Coordinate with US based colleagues for DD participations and insights
  • Actualize his personal expertise through relations with internal / external medical experts
  • Prepare and drive medical activities to support launch of new products / new indications


  • Ensure GCPs, Ethics and medical compliance are applied within all programs, set-up and coordinate appropriate monitoring processes, in coordination with regions


  • Be the voice of Medical Affairs Neuroscience working across Assets and provide medical guidance and active input to global launch strategy
  • Support implementation of fully integrated global medical affairs plans across Neuroscience portfolio
  • Support TA Medical Head in TPP definition and review
  • Review and sign-off global product documentation: promotional materials, symposia and stand-alone events materials if required
  • Provide medical expertise to Market Research, Market Access activities (HEOR…) and GRA (advice, guidance, document review for filing, new indications and maintenance activities as required.


  • Prepare and/or carry-on interventions in symposia / seminars or other external / internal events
  • Suggest participation in key medical events at global and local levels
  • Identify key collaborative groups or scientific societies to associate in line with Medical strategy, in cooperation with countries / regions and TAs in Development, and set-up action plans
  • Develop strong and sustainable relationships with KOL, in line with Franchise global KOL management plan.
