Summary

The Director, Field Medical Affairs (MA), will play a pivotal role as a field-based professional with scientific and therapeutic area expertise that provisions the business objectives across the product life cycle within a designated geographic area of coverage. You will be the trusted scientific partner to key external specialists by conducting timely, appropriate and frequent scientific exchanges to enhance the understanding of the scientific and medical value of our products, aligned with the strategic objectives of MA. The Director should be highly trained in the field and be well-versed in clinical and basic science to be able to deliver cutting edge data and technical/practical education to Health Care Professionals (HCP).

Primary responsibilities include, keeping abreast of medical and scientific developments in Immunology to help identify and critically assess research opportunities. The role will involve the execution of evidence generation plans to enhance the value of our products in a real-world setting and support other MA research activities as directed by the Field Medical Head.

A typical day may include:
  • Using key clinical and research issues and insights from industry leaders support company research, development, and strategies for investigational and commercialized products aimed at improving human health
  • Critically and routinely evaluating and discerning from the information gained from published studies, and partner interactions to develop key insights that deepen our insight of market's needs.
  • Effectively mediate KOL's complex and opinions vs; corporate policy decisions ensuring KOL relationships/medical strategy are not negatively impacted.
  • Engaging in scientific exchange with medical and scientific experts, including Healthcare Professionals and population health decision makers.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in topics beyond scientific exchange such as value / cost of care, including discussions regarding prevention of hospitalizations or intervention, risk of progression or events, and AE management
  • Uses defined systems to maps, identify, profile, and prioritizes partners in line with the therapeutic area medical plan and looks for opportunities to collaborate and build a value based partnership addressing the HCPs therapeutic goals.
  • Supports clinical research activities throughout the life cycle (phase 1-4), mainly focusing on identification of pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators/ experts and sites in alignment with Medical Affairs objectives
May have responsibility for direct reports for designated territories

To be considered for this:
An advanced Clinical/Science Degree required (e.g., MD, PharmD, PhD ) with a minimum of 5 years related work experience (clinical, managed care, or industry experience). Experience in Immunology, Allergy, Respiratory or Dermatology as a field medical representative would be preferred. A strong understanding and knowledge of local regulations and codes of practice for pharmaceutical industry, as they apply to non-promotional activities.
