Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Summer Internship Program! As an intern at Kite, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn about cell therapy from some of the brightest minds in biotech while making a meaningful impact. The Role

The intern willbe responsible for developing a business process to standardize how root cause investigations are managed at a new commercial cell therapy manufacturing site. The project scope will include collaboration between multiple functions to establish clear roles and responsibilities, develop a mechanism to streamline communications between departments, and create tools and templates to drive consistency throughout the process. In this project, you will have an opportunity to interact with multiple functions to establish a strong foundation which will support the transition to cGMP production at the site.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Complete all assigned training content associated with the role
  • Partner with functional representatives to define the business process through use of a RACI matrix and flow diagrams
  • Develop tools and templates to support root cause investigations
  • Author a business enabling document to summarize the business process
  • Prepare a presentation to highlight accomplishments at the end of the project


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be currently enrolledin a full time Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited university/college
  • Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
  • Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship
  • Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Kite sponsorship
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree concentration(s) in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or equivalent
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis fundamentals
  • Experience leading projects
  • Strong technical writing skills
