Research Associate, Protein Purification

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who enjoys detail-oriented technical work, can manage diverse responsibilities in the lab, and thrives in a fast-paced work environment. As an integral member of our functional group, this individual will work closely with other team members within Protein Science and partner with other functional areas including Biology, New Technologies, and Translational Medicine. The ideal candidate will have strong technical aptitude for lab work and a problem-solving mindset that is diligent and flexible. Our Research organization is comprised of a small but diverse group of scientists with a wide range of experience and backgrounds.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Execution of multi-step protein purification schemes using AKTA Unicorn-based methods
• Chromatography sample preparation and protein formulation
• SDS-PAGE, Spectrophotometry, HPLC, and Western blot analysis of purified proteins
• Protein chemistry, conjugation, and validation of reagent molecules for assays
• Purification process development for Harpoon clinical candidates and transfer to CMC
• Materials management and freezer inventory database maintenance
• Maintain electronic lab notebook and databases, prepare reports, and make regular presentations to summarize results and update management

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Training in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or related fields
• Bachelors + 1-5 years or Masters + 1-3 years of relevant experience in industry or academic lab
• Experience in protein chemistry e.g. chromatography, labeling and conjugation, or analytics
• AKTA Pure or Avant and/or Agilent HPLC experience a plus
• Experience in Downstream Process Development desirable
• Demonstrated aptitude for detail-oriented work and following precise SOPs
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new techniques and handling diverse tasks concurrently
• Ability to work independently or with limited direct supervision
• Fast learner with creative problem-solving ability
