Schrödinger Inc. seeks Senior Scientist I, Life Science Software in New York, New York.
Duties: Build atomistic physics-based models; introduce new features in the forcefield suite while maintaining the integrity of the codebase; integrate a machine-learned potential into the forcefield workflow; utilize background in computational chemistry and molecular modeling to perform simulations; use statistical modeling and data analysis to assess the accuracy of the new features; write unit tests and integration tests; monitor the performance of the code base; refactor and restructure certain parts of the code to increase readability; write modular code that has high coverage; improve the quality of code written by others; help detect and avoid possible sources of error.
Requires a PhD in Computational Chemistry, Biophysics, or related field, plus 1 year of experience in related occupations. Requires 1 year of experience in each of the following: experience with Unix/Linux and Python; experience with writing modular code that has high coverage; experience with code review; equal experience with software development and scientific research; experience with computational chemistry and molecular modeling.
