Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individuals to join our Summer Internship Program! As an intern at Kite, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn about cell therapy from some of the brightest minds in biotech while making a meaningful impact. The Role

In preparation for Validation of the T-cell process in a new manufacturing facility, a database of process data needs to be setup and managed to capture process data from Engineering, Verification and PPQ/comparability runs.
As an intern in this position willhave the opportunity to put in place procedures to describe the steps that need to be taken to capture relevant process parameter data using existing data management systems in a both reliable and verifiable way. You will gain a basic understanding of the manufacturing process and critical process parameters and quality attributes that ensure a safe and efficacious T-cell product. You will also gain a real-life experience on the flow of electronic data from Electronic Batch Record to a product lifecycle data management system.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Gain basic understanding of unit operations of the T-cell manufacturing process
  • Gain basic understanding of data capture in Electronic Batch Recording system, and Product Lifecycle data management system
  • Create Data Flow Map: map out the relevant flows of process data from the commercial manufacturing T-cell process to the database system
  • Description of data capture steps: describe each step of data transfer from EBR to Process Monitoring database
  • Create a presentation in PowerPoint to illustrate the steps of data capture.


Basic Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be currently enrolledin a full time Bachelor's Degree program at an accredited university/college
  • Must have completed at least one year of study at an accredited university/college prior to internship commencing
  • Must be enrolled in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship
  • Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between June and September
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without Kite sponsorship
  • Must not be employed at the time the internship starts


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree concentration(s) in Engineering, Biology or Chemistry
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong technical writer, effective speaker, and proficient with various computer software
  • Knowledge of procedures for laboratory instrumentation and instrument qualification
  • Basic understanding of biological processes
  • Basic understanding of cell culture (either microbial, animal, or human derived)
  • Experience with electronic database systems
