Regeneron is looking for a Director, Market Access Strategy - Rare Disease, for our pipeline products (evinacumab, garetosumab and pozelimab). This individual will serve as the Market Access Lead of the cross-functional ACCESS team, the goal of which is to identify and resolve access challenges. This role will develop and implement the specific product strategies to secure and maintain optimal access and reimbursement for pipeline products/indications in the rare disease space.

Responsibilities include developing the US/Global market access strategic and tactical plans, payer branded and unbranded campaigns, payer value proposition, health economic and outcomes strategies, partner mapping, pricing research, customer engagement plans and other pre-launch, launch and post-launch activities in the product's life-cycle. This individual leads the cross-functional Market Access team in the design, development, and execution of these initiatives.

This person will be a strategic partner to the HQ and Field teams by delivering value through insight generation, building capabilities and tools, and effective project management. Will work closely with partner groups in developing and implementing market access and pricing initiatives that will optimize access, uptake and profitability in the US.
  • Lead, develop and execute the market access strategic and tactical plan across rare disease products and indications
  • Contribute to strategic direction of the rare disease therapeutic area through active participation to chart the course for growth and profitability
  • Keep abreast of developments affecting the pricing, reimbursement and market access landscape; develop proactive strategies in anticipation of these trends
  • Understand, analyze and demonstrate the clinical, economic and social value of products to payers, decision-makers and influencers
  • Collect and integrate payer/market insights to advise the brand's market access strategy; specifically, reimbursement trends, federal policy initiatives, competitive landscape, and current and future therapeutic category management approaches
  • Work cross functionally across the Regeneron brand team to provide market access input and recommendations to brand launch strategies
  • Lead the market access sub-team. Collaborate with various functional partners including Patient Support Services, Marketing, Trade, Advocacy, Public Policy, Field Reimbursement, Sales, Pricing, etc
  • Contribute to innovative pricing and contracting strategies to optimize access and commercial success
  • In conjunction with cross-functional team, develop a value proposition, value messaging, dossier and partner engagement plans. Co-lead pricing and contracting strategy development with the pricing team. Work in collaboration with market research, Marketing and HEOR to conduct quantitative and qualitative pricing research.
  • Partner with HEOR to develop HEOR studies to ensure a favorable impact on pricing, reimbursement and market access as well as market uptake
  • Effectively translate results of health economics and other research into clear and concise messages for specific internal and external audience consumption that highlight the value of specific products and applications
  • Prepare strategies and tactics aimed at securing access at launch and provide Market Access support within all government payer segments, specifically Part B Medicare, Federal/VA/DoD and Medicaid (pricing changes, open comment meetings, avoiding duplicate discounts, professional society support/advocacy, etc.).
  • Evaluate the impact of payer policies on the patient experience and access to Regeneron medicines
  • Partner with Training to support and drive market access training efforts across the Commercial team
  • Establish strong relationships with vendors/agencies to lead contracts within budget.
  • Consistent track record of success with strong results and excellent customer relationship skills
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree required; MBA/MHA or other graduate level program preferred
  • 12+ years of progressive pharmaceutical industry experience to include 5 or more years of market access/managed care or 5 years' experience in a leadership role in the specialty products area.
  • Rare Disease experience is required
  • Robust knowledge of US payer coverage and reimbursement environment
  • Deep understanding of and ability to navigate the current and evolving pharmaceutical reimbursement environment
  • Product launch experience in a market access role is a plus
  • Experience with injectable specialty products through cold chain distribution reimbursed under Part-B highly desirable.
  • Launch experience strongly preferred
  • Commercial and clinical experience in rare diseases preferred
  • Strong leadership skills to influence and lobby internal and alliance decision makers
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, prioritize multiple priorities simultaneously, and communicate sophisticated information clearly preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and facilitation skills preferred
  • Excellent clinical, financial, analytical skills
  • This position is based in Sleepy Hollow, NY
  • Travel may be as high as 25%+
