Sr Manager, Medical Affairs, Global HIV , can be based in Foster City, CA or Remote

We are looking for a highly motivated Sr. Manager who is passionate about patient care and HIV treatment, is a self-starter, and has a proven track record of success in prior roles. You will play a critical and exciting role in helping the Global HIV Medical Affairs organization support current therapies and launch its future HIV pipeline products.

Essential Duties and Job Functions

  • As a content manager and product expert, serve as a key contributor and knowledge expert for HIV Medical Affairs
  • Independently manage projects related to analysis of novel, emerging data and determine relevant information to incorporate into medical content
  • Participate in Medical Affairs global activities including management of internal Sharepoint pages, publication and conference data, and medical sub team meetings
  • Manage the creation, review and updating of assigned Medical Affairs slide decks, global Medical Information response documents other medical training documents, ensuring documents are aligned with the Medical Affairs Plan of Action (POA) and needs of the field-based Medical Scientists and other end users
  • Work collaboratively with Medical Scientists, Clinical Research, Commercial/Marketing, Medical Information and other cross-functional teams to address key clinical questions
  • Work collaboratively with Gilead personnel across multiple functional areas, including Commercial, Marketing, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance and Epidemiology, Regulatory, and Legal/Business Conduct
  • Complete medical review of promotional materials tailored for both healthcare professionals and consumers as part of the Promotional Review Committee (PRC)
  • Analyze complex trial data and provide interpretation to outside departments in various venues
  • Attend medical conferences to assess/gather relevant information and support activities related to conference deck development and training
  • Provide training within the therapeutic area on relevant topics for Medical Affairs and Commercial personnel
  • Support HIV Medical Affairs Advisory Programs


Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, DO, MPH or other advanced degree
  • 3-5 years industry experience
  • Relevant experience in HIV or infectious disease therapeutic area
  • Experience in provision of medical information, slide development, medical writing and promotional review committee
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills are required, with experience in preparing and delivering presentations
  • Committed to continuing education to maintain knowledge base
  • Ability to utilize moderately complex scientific resources across a variety of different settings
  • Ability to work collaboratively and experience working on cross-functional teams
