Who you are

We are seeking a highly motivated biomarker scientist to support the discovery and development of biomarkers for therapeutic programs across the BridgeBio subsidiaries of mendelian genetic diseases and genetically-defined cancers.

The biomarker scientist will work with other scientists within BridgeBio as well as contract research organizations to identify, design, implement, and validate candidate biomarker assays for multiple disorders relevant to BridgeBio's subsidiary companies. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of experimental science either directly in or relevant to the development of biomarker assays and/or companion diagnostics. This position reports to the director of translational science.

Key skills for this role include reading and understanding published biomarker approaches, rapidly learning new therapeutic and disease areas, interfacing and collaborating with internal scientists, CRO teams, and cross-functional teams who are experts on a particular disease program. Hands on experience with experimental science and assay development is a must.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop biomarker and target engagement assays to support research and development decisions and clinical trials
  • Work independently and collaboratively with scientists at BridgeBio subsidiaries, consultants, and CROs in support of biomarker development, assessment, qualification and validation
  • Rotate focus among multiple BridgeBio subsidiaries over time to provide biomarker expertise, strategy and support
  • Draft biomarker or surrogate endpoint sections of regulatory submissions

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements:
  • Ph.D., MD/Ph.D. or equivalent experience in pharmacology, biochemistry, or related discipline
  • 2+ years biotech industry experience in assay and biomarker development
  • Experience developing and implementing biomarker assays using various modalities (qPCR, ELISA, IHC, Western blot, flow cytometry)
  • Experience drafting regulatory submission documents
  • Experience evaluating novel technology approaches including platform and instrument assessment
  • Ability to coordinately analyze diverse data sets including bioinformatics where appropriate
  • Ability to work in a small company with a largely virtual environment
  • Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty
  • Strong team interaction and communication skills
