Just is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented and driven Facilities Maintenance Planner/Scheduler that desires a significant opportunity to improve worldwide access to biotherapeutics. The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will provide lead technical, business support and analysis for the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) including the support of asset management, work planning, calibrations, and spare parts inventory within the software. This position will be responsible for developing maintenance plans, and schedules for all the plant assets at Just-Evotec Biologics and to coordinate the interface of the CMMS system, procedures and data transfer to various departments and databases and to ensure all CMMS procedures are developed and followed. Additionally, he/she will be responsible for developing plans considering any special tools that are required, environmental considerations, manpower availability (internal and external), equipment availability, work permits, and materials (stocked and non-stocked).

Key Responsibility Areas
  • Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and document maintenance and calibration related services for manufacturing equipment, facilities, and utility systems; assess maintenance needs for facility and equipment change control
  • Operational Efficiency: Actively partner and communicate with key internal/external stakeholders to develop a maintenance strategy and definition of critical spare parts and inventory control management
  • Technical Expertise: Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and related processes

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Provide planning for corrective (non-emergency), preventive, predictive, and proactive maintenance activities, and calibrations for the Manufacturing, Utilities, and Laboratory areas. Planning includes developing and clarifying the scope of work, coordinating the manufacturing windows, evaluating the resource and load balancing, and the spare parts (stock and non-stock materials)
  • Develop a schedule for Maintenance Technicians and/or contractors. Organize the planned maintenance work schedule to optimize for time
  • Develop standards for repetitive jobs, historical job estimates and track craft/crew backlogs
  • Responsible for the Shutdown (planned outage) schedule and coordinating with department personnel and production areas
  • Work proactively with other functional areas (Facilities & Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) to prioritize business needs and maintenance requirements
  • Assess the skills, tools, equipment, and time needs for operational efficiency and to prepare for planned and unplanned interventions; support investigation of instrument and equipment related events
  • Interface with stakeholders/requesters to determine the need for resource deployment
  • Manage the maintenance and calibration activity schedule, with consideration to cost control and input from other essential stakeholders
  • Manage accurate work-order backlog, quotations, requisitions, data change request, and data required for Metrics, Reporting, KPIs, and Quality System Metrics; maintain and upload applicable data records into the CMMS
  • Create PM/CAL forecasts and communicate to management, stakeholders, and end-users with proper notice to effectively schedule required activities
  • Review and approve manufacturing documentation to ensure accuracy and all GMP/SOP requirements are met
  • Engage others by communicating with impact, encourage teamwork through collaboration, drive for results by ensuring accountability, establish strategic approach by clarifying what matters most, lead change through continuous improvement, demonstrate self-awareness by enhancing personal leadership, develop capabilities by growing talent
  • Provides feedback to area manager on performance of processes, schedulers and planners

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  • Associate degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Pharmaceutical manufacturing or maintenance and 2 years of direct or indirect leadership experience preferred
  • Proficient in the use and administration of the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs; In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility
  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning. Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Strong communication skills. Able to effectively lead cross-functional meetings and effectively engage management
  • Strong CMMS background
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office
  • Proactively looks for opportunities to educate group and external departments
  • Able to influence within the organization and provide leadership to the team
  • Ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic and diverse environment
  • Must be knowledgeable with respect to the operation and maintenance of the manufacturing and utilities equipment and components
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of manufacturing equipment and utilities process, using P&Id's, equipment manuals, specifications, and standard operating procedures
  • Use proper judgment when deciding about the scope of work for any corrective work order
  • Possess good mechanical knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and prioritize maintenance related issues with managers, manufacturing, Facilities and Engineering, QC, supply chain, CMMS, cleaning, and QA personnel
