Job Details
The Applied and Developmental Research Directorate (ADRD) provides clinical and biological monitoring, regulatory support, biospecimen processing and storage, assay development, and project management support to the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAID) clinical programs including Division of Cancer Treatment and Diagnosis (DCTD). DCTD facilitates pathways of unique molecules, diagnostic tests, and therapeutic interventions to clinical applications, including distinct molecular signatures for cancer, refined molecular assays, and state-of-the-art imaging techniques
KEY ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The Secretary I will:
- Provide procurement support to DCTD laboratory staff using blanket orders, purchase requisitions, credit card, and online warehouse system.
- Data entry into appropriate financial system component (CostPoint, Cor360), status checks on orders, reconciliation of credit card transactions, maintenance of electronic filing systems/order logs
- Composing and answering emails/correspondence
- Communicating with laboratory personnel, both verbally and in writing, to gather and clearly convey information
- Providing administrative backup support to NExT program Special Emphasis Panel and CBC Steering Committee meetings
- Gathering scientific and administrative approvals for publications
- Maintaining Program SharePoint site
- Updating Standard Operating Procedure documents (SOP) for DCTD Administrative tasks
- Verifying shipping invoices for approval and payment
- Weekly reporting on open purchase orders statuses
- Completing required government forms for procurement of laboratory/office supplies and travels
- Sorting and distributing mail
- Receiving / transferring calls while managing electronic communications appropriately and professionally
- Providing logistical support for the facilitation of both pre-travel packages and post-travel packages into Deltek T&E while ensuring compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
- Maintaining conference room schedule for scientific and administrative personnel
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered for this position, you must minimally meet the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent; Foreign degrees must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency
- A minimum of one (1) year clerical/secretarial experience
- Experience with Windows, MS Office including Word/Excel/Access
- Knowledge of the use of proper English/grammar/spelling/punctuation
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
