We are seeking an R&D Associate to join the Pre Therapeutic Target Discovery team. This team is responsible for a target discovery screen that uses genetically modified mice to evaluate therapeutic potential of both novel and validated disease targets and identify promising leads for follow up. This individual will be a key contributor for identifying and photographing expression patterns and morphological phenotypes in all tissues and preparing data for presentation and database entry.

In this role, a typical day might include:
• Tissue dissection, staining and photography
• Identification and documentation of expression patterns and phenotypes in multiple cell types and tissues
• Regular use of microscopy (bright field and fluorescent) and data base entry
• Testing and integrating new assays and technologies into the screen

This role may be for you if you are:
• Detail oriented and able to maintain high levels of data integrity and consistency.
• Organized, able to manage your own work flow and consistently meet weekly deadlines.

To be considered for this role, you must have a bachelor's degree with 2-4 years lab experience. Working with mice is essential. A successful candidate needs to have general knowledge of functional anatomy, and microscopy. Experience in histological techniques, including perfusion, cryo and paraffin sectioning, immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone has strong communication and social skills, as well as a proven track record of working independently and collaboratively as part of a larger project. Experience with data entry and excel is highly preferred.
