We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join AbbVie's rapidly expanding Cell Therapy group. The successful candidate will have expertise in T cell biology as well as cellular-based/chimeric T cell receptor-based therapeutics.
  • This individual should have deep technical experience in immunology and molecular biology research with preferred experience in T cell biology including T cell receptors, viral transduction, and molecular biology.
  • This individual will be responsible for generating antigen-specific T cell clones, designing and characterizing CAR constructs, and implementing CAR functional activity assessment.
  • This person will ensure scientific excellence, quality and completeness of key platform initiatives.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate in a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced discovery-oriented environment.

For Sr Scientist I, we require:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Master's degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, PhD and no experience necessary

For Sr Scientist II, we require:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and typically 12 years of experience, Master's degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, PhD and typically 4 years of experience

Both levels require:
  • Ph.D. in Immunology or related major.
  • Demonstrated excellence and productivity in independent research.
  • Extensive knowledge of T cell biology research.
  • Knowledge in viral transduction systems is highly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Level commensurate with experience.
  • Practical experience with primary cell culture, T-cell based assays, and molecular biology techniques is required.
  • Additionally, a strong expertise in molecular biology, T cell biology and oncology research experience is desirable.
  • Skills include, but not limited to: flow cytometry (FACs), PCR, qPCR, ELISA, Luminex, retroviral/lentiviral/adeno-associated viral based transduction systems, T cell clone generation.
  • Highly developed written and communication skills, and the ability to work in a highly collaborative team setting is essential.
