Occupational Health is comprised of internal medical clinics passionate about promoting and improving worker well being. Our Occupational Health (OH) Manager role will focus on supporting Global Occupational Health initiatives and supporting site-based clinic activities when needed. This role includes performing OH program assessments, supporting long range strategy and management of key performance indicators to maintain injury and illness compliance and advance Amgen's outstanding safety performance.

The ideal candidate will have technical knowledge in interpreting and handling data to optimize OH business operations and embody a continuous improvement mentality. The candidate will possess a clinical background in a healthcare setting, occupational health experience in corporate environment is strongly preferred. The role involves close collaboration with site clinic teams and broader environment, health, safety and sustainability colleagues in the US and at international locations as well as partnership with human resources, legal, facilities and engineering.

Basic Qualifications

  • Valid and active registered nurse license in California
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree
  • Degree with an emphasis in Occupational, Safety and Environmental Health, industrial engineering or related subject area
  • Degree concentration(s) in Nursing Informatics or Business Analytics


Preferred Qualifications

 

  • Experience in handling occupational health and safety programming
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EEO, ADA and worker's compensation regulations
  • Experience with electronic medical records systems
  • Technical competence in MS Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Tableau, Smartsheet
  • Ability to analyze large data from existing data systems and tools
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to translate technical information and business requirements into lay terms
  • Ability to collaborate and work in complementary teams
  • Office or industrial ergonomic experience
  • Risk Management/Assessment skills and experience
