Role Summary

The Sr Operational Excellence (OpEx) Implementation Specialist is responsible for supporting the implementation of the Pfizer Performance System, Integrated Manufacturing Excellence (IMEx). This includes working with the senior manufacturing leadership team, Facility Managers and their Staffs, and colleagues at all organizational levels to train, develop and instill continuous improvement concepts throughout the organization. This individual will drive the design of site specific continuous improvement implementation plans, train employees in continuous improvement, execute transformational activities (kaizen, value stream and area transformation, "mini-T's", etc.), establish metrics and methods to assure they are tracked on an on-going basis, and assist in the implementation of specific actions and projects to optimize facility performance.

Role Responsibilities
  • Coach functional leader on leading in an OpEx environment including: Leading performance board huddles, Performing Gemba walks, Coaching problem-solving activities.
  • Lead or participate in Continuous Improvement Events including but not limited to Kaizen events, Value Stream and/or Area Transformations ("mini-t"), employee training, data analysis, lean project management.
  • Provide suggestions to site OpEx Manager/Director on process improvement ideas.
  • Capturing timely and accurate data when required.
  • Apply and teach the following lean tools: 5S, SMED, Visual Management (performance boards), PDCA, problem solving, Kanban, Standard Work, TPS principles.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.


Qualifications

Must-Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, science or related field required.
  • 3+ years of lean six sigma application experience using Toyota Production System or equivalent lean manufacturing methodology required.
  • Green Belt certification required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of transactional process improvements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of program and project management in support of Lean, Enterprise Excellence, Six Sigma, quality improvement, and similar initiatives.
  • Demonstrated leadership capability and communication skills necessary to achieve results through others.


Nice-to-Have
  • Black Belt Certification preferred.
  • Master's Degree or degree in Engineering or technical discipline preferred.
  • Leadership experience preferred.


Physical/Mental Requirements
  • Job will include standing, walking, sitting, ability to perform mathematical calculations and complex data analysis. Occasional lifting may be required.


Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements
  • This role is Monday - Friday, day shift. Occasional weekend/evening support may be required to support continuous improvement activities.
  • Minimal travel both domestic and international
