Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is seeking a Scientist - Bioinformatics for our Tarrytown, NY location who will be responsible for computational biology and large-scale genomic data analysis. Collaborate with colleagues across the research and clinical development teams and plays a key scientific role in leveraging innovative analytics to empower data-driven decisions in advancing our pipeline. Work with immunology/inflammation and skeletal diseases scientists to develop analytics strategies to address the gap in understanding new biology; work with molecular biologists to design and improve new assays to help novel single cell technology development. Characterizes molecular mechanisms and identifies novel therapeutic targets and pathways from mouse model and human clinical samples. Manage and integrate knowledge from prior experiments and biological databases through existing or novel algorithms and make scientific contributions in genomic technology and quantitative sciences at the theoretical and empirical levels.

Qualified applicants will possess a PhD in Biology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Statistics, Nutrition, Nutritional Genomics, or closely related field and 1 year of related industry experience. Experience must include: largescale genomic data, including whole genome sequencing, exome sequencing, amplicon sequencing, bisulfite sequencing, RNA-seq, single cell RNA-seq; using R, Python and Perl for complex bioinformatics data analysis; bioinformatics pipelines and tools, including: ArrayStudio, NextBio, BWA, SAMTools, Cellranger; producing interactive outputs (R Shiny); performing and sharing bioinformatics analysis using Jupyter Notebook; new bioinformatics algorithm development; relational databases such as MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server; programming in a cloud environment; statistical principles and with core methods, including: hypothesis testing, conditional probability, regression modeling, power calculation, dimensionality reduction, tree-based models, bootstrapping, maximum likelihood, and bayesian models; relevant concepts in immunology and molecular biology, such as innate and adaptive immune responses, antigen recognition; allergy and autoimmune disease models; and with next generation sequencing related molecular biology experiments. Must have record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and patent filings. Up to 5% international and domestic travel is required.
