DNA Script is actively searching for a motivated and efficient Laboratory Technician who will be focused on enabling and testing our DNA technology and the development of DNA Script's commercial product. The position will be US based, in the South San Francisco, California office.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the smooth operation of the laboratory. Order and receive materials, maintain a clean and organized lab environment, clean and maintain glassware, equipment as needed.
  • Generate key reagents for R&D that are robust and reproducible for both our current product and future generations of our platform
  • Precise documentation of experimental and QC processes to allow accurate traceability Characterize key reagents to establish performance criteria and specifications
  • Develop test methods and establish quality controls for new materials/processes involving polymers and polymer attachment to surfaces
  • Help to develop orthogonal analytical methods that can correlate with performance on our synthesis platform.
  • Follow established Laboratory Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Prepare and aliquot reagents for related experiments
  • Execute experimental plans, perform in-depth data analysis and present results and conclusions for internal review.
  • Work closely with team members to improve quality and performance of reagents.
  • Interface and assist with hardware engineering as needed to improve and extend DNA synthesis capabilities
  • Maintain a clean work environment including instruments and equipment and workspace
  • Conduct stability studies of reagents and buffers, following established protocols

Experience
  • Bachelors degree in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience is preferred

Ideal Candidate will have
  • Experience working in development or a GMP facility
  • Solid understanding of commercial product development
  • Experience in documenting procedures and writing SOPs is preferred
  • Hands-on experience in setting specifications, stability studies and guard band studies is preferred.
  • Detail oriented and meticulous attention to detail Proficiency with basic laboratory calculations, such as serial dilutions, molarity and micromolar calculations.
  • Willingness to take/accept new responsibilities and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of current and evolving trends in the NGS field
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot, and work in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Experience with operating instrumentation, such as NGS technologies, qPCR technologies, laboratory automation
