Amgen's "Fuel Your Potential" Emerging Talent Rotational Program (ETRP) is committed to provide an enriching environment to inspire innovation and career growth. We're looking for upcoming college graduates who are self-motivated individuals, with strong analytical skills, decision-making, and leadership attributes, seeking to join a World-Class Biotechnology Company. The objective is to develop future leaders with a blend of technical knowledge and soft skills (extracurricular activities, leadership, and/or associations), so that participants are

ready to make a positive impact and use their talents to accomplish more than they thought possible.

While being self-motivated is a key, Amgen provides a robust system to make you successful. The ETRP's selected candidates will work under minimal supervision, but along with a solid mentor, coach, and buddy support system to guide you during the assimilation process from Academia to Workplace, and throughout the program. This two-year Rotational Program consists of three 8-month rotations in Operations. Example functions include Manufacturing, Quality, Process Development, Engineering, and Supply Chain.

We have open positions based in Thousand Oaks, CA, with a start date in summer of 2021.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Leadership / Management

  • Meet with support system on a regular basis
  • Complete deliverables of projects/tasks assigned
  • Will participate in regularly scheduled meetings with all ETRP participants and Program Manager to present and report out on accomplishments and deliverables

 


Technical

 

 

  • Basic troubleshooting
  • Assist in the review of documentation for assigned functions
  • Perform routine project management
  • May assist in the analysis and interpretation under direct supervision of own data and verifies experimental data from other group members
  • May develop basic scientific skills through routine laboratory tasks completion

 


Processes

 

 

 

  • Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Laboratory Procedures as applicable
  • May regularly draft and revise "routine" documents (e.g. MPs, SOP's, and technical reports)
  • Demonstrate significant contributions to the business by identifying and recommending improvements related to routine functions
  • Recognize & accurately report problems
  • Maintain appropriate documentation up to date
  • Document appropriate work output (lab notebook compliance, SOPs, etc.)
  • Read and follow written technical procedures

 


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

 

 

 

  • Currently enrolled in final year of Bachelor's Degree Program in Life Sciences, Engineering or other relevant disciplines, scheduled to graduate no later than summer 2021
  • Minimum GPA 3.2 or higher
  • 2 or less years relevant Work-Experience
