- Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures; ensures safety rules and policies are observed; ensures regulatory requirements are maintained.
- Performs tasks required of a Sr. Tradesperson in their group. ( i.e.: Lead Person in the Sheet Metal Shop must perform activities required of a Sr. Sheet Metal Worker)
- Assists in providing leadership and execution of the operational effectiveness of the business of which the positionapplies (i.e. mechanics, electricians).
- Prioritizes, schedules and distributes daily work then follows up on completion of daily workload; interfaces with customers via e-mail, telephone and in person; provides follow-up on work orders to management and customers when requested; contacts vendors to requisition parts.
- Provides technical assistance to the group in troubleshooting various equipment malfunctions and operational problems.
- Collects time cards and work orders daily and submits to Group Leader or Supervisor. In the absence of the Group Leader/Supervisor, the Lead Person could have responsibility to review the time cards and work orders for accuracy and submit for processing
- Submits daily invoices to department Administrative Assistant for processing; ensures purchase orders have been submitted for material and services before submitting work orders to be closed
- Reviews and revises work order backlog.
- Assists Group Leader or Supervisor with the submission of change requests for additions, revision and deletions of preventive maintenance.
- Provides tradesperson performance information to their group leader or supervisor.
- Hours of the position are Mon - Fri 6AM - 2:30PM
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum five years experience in the field of which position applies. Formal apprenticeship or equivalent training
- Must be experienced with computer maintenance management systems, e-mail and calendaring
- Must display strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to perform with minimal supervision and have the ability to manage high volume work loads
