Our core technology involves the genetic engineering of T cells, or white blood cells, to express either chimeric antigen receptors (CARs) or T cell receptors (TCRs) for the treatment of advanced solid and hematological malignancies. We are on a rapid growth trajectory and have a highly energized and accomplished team.

Everyone at Kite is grounded by one common goal - curing cancer. Every single day, we seek to establish a direct line between that purpose and our day-to-day work. Does this sound exciting to you?

Apply today!

We are seeking a creative, and motivated Scientist to join our team. You will use your background in synthetic biology to develop next-generation technologies in cell therapy as you support our efforts focused on solid tumors indications.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of accomplishments and will be expected to work in a collaborative cross-functional team environment, performing experiments, organizing and analyzing results, communicating, and presenting findings in team meetings. We offer a comprehensive benefits package including matching 401k, stock options, and relocation!

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to):
  • Employ strategies for the genetic modification of human T cells with synNotch™, chimeric antigen receptor (CAR), or T cell receptor (TCR) based technologies.
  • Develop novel protein or RNA based technologies for cell therapy.
  • Design and oversee in vitro functional assays of human T cells.
  • Work with immunologists to engineer therapeutic circuits and proteins to test novel adoptive cell therapy approaches.
  • Effectively communicate plans and results in both oral and written form.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic collaborative team environment.
  • Coordination of tasks across multiple projects, demonstrating prioritization and planning.
  • Interpret and effectively execute experiments in line with project timelines and goals.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience engineering mammalian cells preferred but not required.
  • Protein, RNA, and/or circuit engineering background strongly preferred.
  • Nice to Have: Experience with lentiviral or retroviral transgene delivery. Familiarity with T cell phenotyping, cytotoxicity assays, proliferation, and cytokine/chemokine measurements.
