The Mammalian Expression group in Biologics Optimization is responsible for the production of large molecule therapeutics from early stage screening through material supply in manufacturability assessments along with pre-clinical studies.

The individual should be innovative in developing methodologies that reduce cycle time and improve quality and quantity of large molecule therapeutics (antibodies & bispecifics) from recombinant mammalian expression systems. This is a laboratory focused position in our state-of-the-art facility in Thousand Oaks, California.

Responsibilities:
  • Scientific and technical expertise in transient and stable mammalian expression is required for this laboratory position.
  • Championing innovative ideas and facilitating the development and implementation of technologies to express and optimize large molecule therapeutics including antibodies and bispecifics.
  • Solving complex technical problems.
  • Working both independently and in cross-functional teams.


Basic Qualifications:

Master's degree and 3 years of scientific experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of scientific experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • PhD in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology or Biochemistry and two or more years of biotech/pharma industry experience with emphasis on protein production and host cell engineering using various mammalian expression systems.
  • Strong knowledge and experience of expression strategies for antibodies and bispecifics.
  • Proficiency in molecular cloning, mammalian cell culture, cell biology, transcriptomics, genomics, genome editing, next generation sequencing, and biochemical analysis.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexibly in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated a strong track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by publications in highly regarded journals, conference presentations or generation of intellectual property.
