A Research Scientist position is available in the in vivo pharmacology department of Gate Neurosciences, Inc. The position will involve studying the pharmacology of CNS drugs in freely behaving rodents utilizing in vivo electrophysiological techniques such as auditory evoked potentials as well as LTP/LTD field potential recordings.
The Research Scientist will spend time maintaining and manipulating tissue culture lines, cloning various transgenes/peptides into expression vectors, production, and purification of recombinant proteins in various systems, and analysis of in vitro and in vivo function in appropriate model systems.
Applicants must have a PhD degree, and have published experience using molecular neuroscience techniques, as well as some experience with quantitative biochemistry / and molecular modeling. Requires a practical understanding of advanced molecular biological techniques.
