Who You Are

The Manager, Portfolio Strategy will play a key role in the expansion and advancement of BridgeBio's gene therapy portfolio. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Business Development & Strategy, you will develop financial models and analytics, inform future strategic planning, and identify and incorporate insights from market research and competitive intelligence. You will have the chance to participate in executive-level investment discussions at BridgeBio and will collaborate with scientific and medical leaders in gene therapy and rare disease. Given the recent emergence of commercial-stage gene therapies, this role not only has the opportunity to identify and inform future investment in gene therapy at BridgeBio but also to shape the advancement of the gene therapy field as a whole.

Responsibilities
  • Evolve the capabilities necessary to support portfolio analytics, including financial modeling, competitive intelligence, market research, and strategic planning
  • Conduct analyses to support strategic decision-making, including continued investment in existing programs
  • Research the industry landscape, potential partners, relevant technologies, historical/comparable terms & transactions
  • Manage and analyze daily news, competitor updates, changes to key competitive data sources
  • Lead and coordinate competitive intelligence planning for key industry, medical and broker conferences and incorporate key insights into program and portfolio planning
  • Facilitate cross-functional scenario planning and develop key commercial assumptions for gene therapy programs
  • Develop an integrated financial model for the gene therapy portfolio, as well as the analytics to identify key drivers of portfolio value, cost, and risk
  • Facilitate routine portfolio reviews with BBGT leadership
  • Support formulation of strategies for portfolio optimization and growth

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements
  • B.S. in STEM-related field
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Ph.D., or Masters is a plus)
  • Minimum of 3+ years in biopharma, life science consulting, finance
  • Enjoy financial modeling; excels at excel
  • Scientifically curious; enjoys reading about emerging health care companies and technologies
  • Analytical problem-solver
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about finding ways to cure rare diseases
  • Ability to work in a small company with a largely virtual environment
  • Ability to manage complexity and uncertainty
  • Strong team interaction and communication skills
