Job Description:

As Director HEOR you will develop and execute HEOR research strategies and tactics in support of the Rare Disease Therapeutic Area, conduct research and create HEOR tools that answer key research questions or external stakeholder questions, and evaluate and communicate compound value. You will work with and report into Head of US HEOR to ensure scientific rigor in the design, execution and dissemination of outcomes research studies (both clinical and observational studies) and also lead the effective communication of results to external audiences, including specific payers or healthcare institutions, as per new FDA guidelines. As Director HEOR you will also work cross-functionally to ensure that HEOR plans are aligned across the organization including V&A and the commercial team.

Your role will involve:
  • Conducting methodologically sound and comprehensive feasibility studies for potential outcomes research for priority HEOR evidence needs, designing methodologically rigorous HEOR studies and projects, in collaboration with internal and external researchers. This position will take the HEOR research from concept to publication and manage study quality, resources, project plan, vendors and writing/editing scientific content.
  • Supporting development and refinement of AMCP dossiers, budget impact models, and value communication tools.
  • Presenting budget impact models and other health economics and outcomes research materials in response to customer requests for information
  • Conducting or leading large database sets analyses using secondary data sources such as healthcare claims, electronic medical record databases or publicly available datasets for HEOR projects
  • Communicating and leveraging approved HEOR evidence and tools to key population decision makers including payers, integrated delivery networks, PBs, institutions to inform healthcare decision making and the place of Ipsen products in therapy
  • Collaborating as appropriate, with other customer-facing teams to provide comprehensive customer support, such as field Value and Access, and field medical colleagues
  • 80% in-house HEOR projects, 20% customer-facing field efforts and presentations


In return, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's Degree degree (MS, MPH, MBA) in Public Health, Health Services Research, Economics, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy or a related quantitative discipline is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Health Economics and Outcomes Research is required
  • Clinical knowledge background is a plus.
