We are seeking a talented and highly motivated scientist to join our Early Discovery Analytics team and help us use mass spectrometry-based technologies to identify and evaluate hit compounds from our DNA-encoded library screens for a contract position. Key technologies that we employ include small molecule and protein mass spectrometry, which rely on expertise at the interface of biology and chemistry including: LCMS analysis, protein chemistry, binding kinetics and affinity, small molecule SAR evaluation, synthetic chemistry and high-throughput assay development. Experience in or exposure to several of these is highly desired. As a member of a dynamic multi-disciplinary project team, this person will collaborate with a broad group of scientists within Nurix as well as with external collaborators.

Qualifications
  • BS or MS in life sciences (eg. chemistry, biochemistry, biology) with 0-5 years industry experience (years of relevant experience will impact level of hire)
  • Training in biochemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, or molecular biology desired
  • Candidate with hands on LCMS experience strongly encouraged
  • In vitro assay experience, strong laboratory skills, and practical knowledge of SAR encouraged
  • Fluent in principles of organic chemistry
  • Interest in assay development, data analysis, and learning and implementing new techniques
  • High level of creativity and productivity with strong problem-solving skills
  • Close attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Familiarity with working with large data sets and the tools necessary to effectively organize, visualize and distill data to facilitate rapid decision making
  • Excellent communication skills, able to present the rationale, key data, issues and accomplishments of small molecule discovery efforts to other members of the department.
