Intellia Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Technician to join our genomics team and support DNA and RNA extractions from multiple tissues types that will be then quantified and used for high throughput next generation sequencing (NGS).The successful candidate will be a part of the Screening and NGS Platform Development (SNPD) team. Applicants should have some experience with extractions and executing protocols in an SOP driven fashion. Familiarity with liquid handling robots and other automation systems is a plus. Applicants should have exceptional time management and communication skills (both written and oral) coupled with a strong attention to detail. Good organization skills are a must.

Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate and receive samples into the lab for extractions
    • Perform automated and manual DNA and RNA extractions for whole blood, tissues, cells and any other types needed for downstream processing.
    • Perform quantification and downstream preparation for samples as requested
    • Assist with communication of sample status, results and data
    • Prepare general laboratory stock solutions and materials
    • Monitor inventory levels and proper storage of materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures
    • Maintain internal documentation for all steps of the processes as outlined in SOPs
    • Troubleshoot assays and reagent qualification issues
    • Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts
    • Coordinate work assignments and be able to prioritize independently
    • Participate in a team approach to workflow management of the lab


Qualifications:
    • B.A Biology, Chemistry, or related life science field
    • Hamilton and liquid handling robotic experience preferred
    • Understanding of molecular genetics and general chemistry
    • Previous molecular biology lab experience preferred
    • Excellent attention to detail with an understanding of laboratory practices
    • Team oriented attitude
