Ovid has a broad pipeline of potential first-in-class medicines. POSITION
The Associate Director IT/Business Analyst will serve as the lead functional business analyst for numerous projects spanning all functional areas in the organization and the drug development process value stream. This individual will work with internal clients and technology teams to improve business processes and deliver new capabilities. In this role you will act as the intermediary between the business and IT, using a deep understanding of business processes and technology to help business partners achieve their desired outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with business partners to elicit high-level requirements and capture business needs; understand the customer journey and define user requirements.
- Identify unarticulated business needs and coordinate between stakeholder groups to address them.
- Engage with business partners and influence project decisions; assess the risks of various solutions and prioritize competing business demands.
- Promote architectural consistency and usability standards; define and execute test cases.
- Identify opportunities for business-led delivery; coach employees to make use of technology and information.
- Provide consultative support on business-led technology initiatives.
- Create prototypes and codesign innovative solutions
- roactively monitor industry, functional, and technology trends
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 7 of years of biotech and/or pharma experience
- Broad IT domain experience in three or more of the following areas: Applications Development, Enterprise Architecture, Project Management, Vendor Management, Quality Assurance, Infrastructure and Maintenance/Support
- Demonstrated familiarity and understanding of core functions within all value streams of the drug development process, company structure, and operations outside of IT
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, verbal and presentation communication skills
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive biotech and/or pharma experience 7-10 years
- Demonstrated knowledge of both traditional Waterfall and Agile/Lean methodologies
- Experience in converting business requirements and functional requirements to use cases, epics, and user stories with acceptance criteria
- Demonstrated ability to quantify resource requirements and measure and communicate proposed project benefits
- Strong risk assessment, problem resolution, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated ability to engage both developers and business partners to achieve target outcomes
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
- Must possess strong initiative and a get-it-done attitude.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate and assist large teams in resolving complex analytical and technical issues.
- Excellent problem solver and independent thinker who has the ability to create innovative solutions.
- Client focused, proactive and results oriented with ability to support clients across multiple locations.
