AbbVie is looking for a Business System Analyst to be part of its state-of-the-art specialty pharmacy organization committed to better serve the patients.

This position will report to Associate Director - PS Strategic Programs, and will work across pharmacy services, Patient Assistance Program, administrative services functional areas.

This position is expected to conceive, design, engineer, and implement data and software solutions that solve significant business problems, generate new proposals and lead the implementation efforts, Investigate, identify, and implement state-of-the-art technology platforms that drive productivity and efficiency gains across referral processing, drug dispensing, order fulfillment, shipping, inventory management, claim, accounts receivable and quality functions.

We are looking for a Business Analyst that is detail oriented, flexible when faced with change, able to manage multiple tasks and projects, skilled at building relationships with clients and internal team members, thrives in a fast paced work environment, and has a solid understanding of the software development lifecycle. This candidate will have many opportunities to impact business process and company success. This is a highly technical position with accountability for product quality that requires the ability to motivate and mentor project team members.

Key Responsibilities Includes:

  • Effectively manage communications and expectations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to function as subject matter expert in order to collect complete and accurate business requirements from business SMEs by means of interviews, workflow analyses and facilitated discussions.
  • Translates users' business requirements into detailed functional designs for development, testing and implementation
  • Work as a team player and leader in order to effectively coordinate across functional teams
  • Collaborates with Product/Project Management to balance product vision and voice of customer in order to recommend and deliver best-in-class solutions
  • Develops documentation that accurately reflects client needs and is clearly defined for Development and QA teams (i.e. business requirements, user stories, functional specifications, test plans, business process flows, etc.)
  • Creates clear and easy to follow user guides for end-users
  • Performs as subject matter advisor to less experienced team members. May participate in teaching and training members of work team.
  • Mentors less experienced members of the team
  • Collaborates with stakeholders, internal teams, vendors on the evaluation of the feasibility, effort and costs to implement requirements .
  • Driving and holding internal groups / teams or vendors to a higher standard while meeting the desired outcome for organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business or related discipline)
  • Passion for making a different in patients' lives while designing and deploying efficient and effective technology solutions.
  • 8-10years of experience in software development projects, including client facing projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office suite of products (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook, etc.)
  • Agile software development experience
  • Pharmacy industry experience preferred (Preferably specialty mail order pharmacy)
  • Familiarity with industry standards like NCPDP, Electronic Scripts Management etc.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to share creative and new ideas
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Continuous process improvement skills
  • Partnering and problem-solving mindset
