Schrödinger is looking for an exceptionally talented scientific software developer to join our New York-based development team, focused on new cutting-edge technologies in our force fields group. Our team's mission is to facilitate breakthroughs in computer-aided chemical discovery by delivering methods with unprecedented levels of accuracy.

The ideal candidate will have a strong grasp of software development fundamentals and test-driven development experience, along with a scientific background in computational Chemistry, Biology or Physics and knowledge of classical force fields. Previous experience in professional software development is not required, but an interest in adopting best engineering practices is.

Required qualifications include:
  • Experience writing clear, highly organized, and maintainable code
  • Intermediate-level knowledge of the Python programming language
  • Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or related fields


Desirable qualifications include:
  • Experience writing object-oriented code
  • Experience with C/C++ development
  • Experience applying molecular simulation and QM methods in model validation
  • Experience modeling small molecules and proteins
