Amgen is seeking a Senior Associate software engineer at our Thousand Oaks, CA or Tampa, FL location to join the Global Commercial Operations Information Systems (GCOIS) team and help deliver creative and ground-breaking technology solutions.

This position is primarily responsible to develop and manage Amgen's wholesaler data integration and data journey, including various EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) and Chargebacks processing. This role will contribute to develop compliant, scalable, and secure technical solutions to support Amgen's US Value & Access organization. This role, as a member of the US Contracts and Pricing Product team, will also have the opportunity to work on the product team's backlog and play a broader role in the advancement of the product. The Senior Associate will utilize Agile and Dev/Ops software lifecycle management processes to implement the product road map and deliver desired business outcomes.

Responsibilities
With guidance, applies knowledge of basic principles, methods and practices to simple and moderately complex assignments as follows:
  • Manage wholesalers' data integrations, and develop expertise with EDI transactions
  • Partner with contracts operations business team, to implement technologies for Chargebacks and wholesaler data management needs.
  • Work internally with trade ops, contracts & pricing team, and enterprise platform team, and externally with wholesaler customers and third party vendors to ensure data mapping, validation and delivery.
  • Manage EDI operational support team onshore or offshore.
  • Role as IS product team release manager, prepare and broadcast release notes and other product communication
  • Develop customization and integrations as required for solution delivery
  • Configure the applications based on the business requirements
  • Develop and execute test cases to validate business logic and avoid production issues
  • Work closely with other product team members including developers, business analysts, QA analysts and project managers
  • Act a data steward of the data elements that are involved in EDI analysis and chargebacks reporting


Basic Qualifications
Master's degree
Or
Bachelor's degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience
Or
Associate's degree and 4 years of Information Systems experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 6 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working experiences of Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup principles
  • Working experiences in product team including backlog grooming, sprint planning, release management and sprint retrospective
  • Motivated and naturally interested in technologies. Agile and scrum certification is a plus
  • Experience with software application design and development
  • Experience in data integration, developing API between applications
  • Working knowledge of Dev/Ops principles and CI/CD platforms and tool
  • Strong communication skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impact
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to use constraints as opportunities
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and handle multiple small projects simultaneously
  • Ability to organize and prioritize demands to deliver results in a time-sensitive manner
  • Experience with IBM Sterling integrator, MuleSoft, Amazon Web Services or other cloud computing platforms is a plus
  • Experience with Alteryx and Tableau is a plus
