The role
The Undergrad Coop will work closely with the Information System team. Students will have the opportunity to support the Department's continuous improvement initiatives/projects and daily operations support area within the AML Site and will interact with a multidisciplinary team.
The department
The Information Systems Department plays a major role to coordinate activities within manufacturing industry, along the production chain, between manufacturing, and outside the organization.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Measuring and analyzing current systems/process performance
- Improving operational efficiency and productivity
- Creating, revising GMP and Non GMP documentation.
- Identifying and implementing new process across departments/functions
- Building business cases to support the strategic direction
- Support IS current projects/initiatives and runs activities
- Support to maintain detailed project plan and/or issue log and follow-up activities
- Observe, monitor, document, and communicate systems and process performance
- Prioritize and present systems performance data to the management team
- Support the implementation of IS solutions, special projects, or initiatives
- Monitor and communicate systems incidents and/or trends
- Participate in systems Root Cause Analysis investigations for systems events (i.e. Critique, 5 Whys -and/or One-point-lesson)
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (i.e. Kaizens and/or VSMs)
- Other functions may be assigned to support business needs
Basic skills and education needed
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Industrial, Chemical, Computer, Software, Electrical and/or Mechanical Engineering, Life Science or Biotechnology
- Minimum GPA of 3.00
- Be enrolled in School
Beyond that, the preferred qualifications are:
- Availability to join us up to a 1-year assignment
- Have completed at least 3 years of college education
- Bilingual (English / Spanish)
- Collaboration, negotiation, persuasion, basic project management, ensuring completion and follow up
- Proficiency in Share Point, Microsoft Word and Excel software, Excellent technical writing skills.
