We have an immediate opening for a Quality Control Technician in Newark, CA. This individual will be primarily responsible for executing and reporting on functional instrument testing. Secondarily, they will provide support to consumables QC testing. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate proficiency in following detailed analytical workflows, organized management of production data and effective communication skills. Position reports to the Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but not limited to)
  • Performing functional testing on instruments and consumables
  • Recording of production data to batch records/travelers/databases
  • Maintaining production records and metrics
  • Reporting on results of isolated test and providing basic assessments aggregate QC data
  • Providing input to (and possibly drafting) initial/revision of QC documents
  • Providing input to development teams based on experiences


QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in QC testing role (or equivalent)
  • Associates Degree in a science related field or Bachelors' Degree in biotech, chemistry, biology or related field
  • Ability to maintain focus and attention while performing testing protocols
  • Ability to accurately and consistently document QC data
  • Proficient in general laboratory tools & techniques (pipettes, balances, pH/conductivity meters, microscopes, UOM conversions, fume hood use, safe handling of hazardous chemicals, etc.)
  • Good communications skills, written & verbal (English)
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Experience in fast paced startup environment a plus
  • Experience working on mechanical, fluidic, pneumatic assemblies a plus
  • Effective utility player with ability & willingness to quickly learn new skills and techniques
