Position Summary

The Senior Director of HEOR will formulate HEOR strategy and coordinate evidence generation activities to support the value story and optimal reimbursement and access for sparsentan. This individual will work on cross functional teams to serve as a value evidence expert for sparsentan and ensure delivery of robust evidence through each stage of the development, launch and post-launch phases.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and lead HEOR strategy development to support product strategy and position in partnership with global product team.
  • Identify HEOR evidence requirements and gaps, and design, conduct and deliver studies and tools to support relative value demonstration and product demonstration (e.g.: cost of illness evaluations, economic evaluations in clinical trials, decision-analytic modelling, cost-effectiveness and cost utility studies, retrospective database analyses, naturalistic prospective evaluation, patient/disease registries, PRO, utility measurement, meta-analyses, etc.)
  • Partner with Medical Affairs the Real World Evidence (RWE) and communication strategy.
  • Conduct observational and RWE studies (e.g.: costing studies, outcomes research, etc.) with non-interventional study processes.
  • Develop and utilize cost-effectiveness, budget impact and health impact model(s) to communicate the public health and economic value.
  • Incorporate humanistic and economic endpoints into clinical trials across all phases of product development to build comprehensive trial-based evidence in line with overall medical strategy and access targets for the asset.
  • Develop and validate new Patient Reported Outcomes measures, as appropriate, for inclusion across clinical trials, registries, and prospective real-world studies.
  • Direct the coordination of input from local country market access teams on evidence needs and ensure that the input is appropriately incorporated to support global market access needs.
  • Deliver HEOR presentations to customers to support reimbursement decisions.
  • Identify and maintain successful research relationships with HEOR thought leaders and a voice on shaping HEOR methodology and policies.
  • Develop potential research partnerships with key decision makers in health care systems and patient care/support organizations.


Qualifications
  • PhD, MS/MPH, MD, PharmD required. An equivalent combination of education and applicable experience may be considered.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with an emphasis on the pharmaceutical industry and/or managed care experience; 8+ years of experience in health economics and outcomes research including budgetary impact, cost-effectiveness, cost-utility analyses, prospective studies, real world evidence studies, and claims database analysis; 4-6 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience in biostatistics desirable.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategies to generate evidence to support product value, minimizing price as an objection.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the US and major ex-US healthcare systems and reimbursement processes, and public policy decisions-making. Experience with HTA organizations such as NICE, SMC desirable.
  • Exceptional analytical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities with demonstrated abilities to think creatively and strategically to solve and answer key business questions/problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact with all levels of management, colleagues and external collaborators.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills with the ability to present at the executive level and with external thought leaders with the capability to examine and project appropriate details.
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize and manage shifting responsibilities in a small, dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Ability to travel domestic and internationally.
