The Associate Director, Patient Access Manager Leader (AD, PAM Leader) will be responsible for leading our Patient Access Manager team comprised of six Patient Access Managers (PAMs). The AD, PAM Leader will be responsible for hiring, coaching, shaping, and leading this very important team. This role will report to the VP, Market Access.

The AD, PAM Leader will provide oversight and guidance to direct reports, complete employee assessments, and ensure the PAMs are meeting defined job functions. The AD, PAM Leader will also define the patient access critical success factors/metrics, tools (digital, work instructions, SOPs, etc.), and training needed for the PAMs.

The AD, PAM Leader will work very closely with AD, Market Access to identify areas of improvement with our patient access programs/processes and work with them to implement solutions in a compliant and patient centric manner. The AD, PAM Leader will also work very closely with our patient access HUB on day-to-day issue resolution and to help ensure efficient/effective coordination.  In addition, AD, PAM Leader will work closely with our Regional Sales Managers to get appropriate feedback and ensure effective / efficient / compliant coordination across the teams.

This individual will be required to exhibit a high level of clinical and patient access expertise. This includes tracking regional / local payer coverage and contributing to the payer access strategy in close coordination with the AD, Market Access, medical team, and payer team.

  • Managing, coaching, developing six Patient Access Managers (PAMs). This includes identifying opportunities for improvement at the team and individual level.
  • Ensuring the PAMs have all the tools (digital, work instructions, training) to do their jobs in an efficient, fulfilling, and compliant manner.
  • Provide management with visibility into patient access key performance indicators (KPIs) / metrics, managing to required service levels, and initiating performance management steps.
  • Conduct field travel with PAMs as needed and participate in region meetings to assess market access landscape, create action plans to address challenges.
  • Collaborate with AD, Market Access and Key Account Manager leadership to create effective and compliant training plan around patient access messaging and resource development / utilization.
  • Work with AD, Market Access to track regional / local payer coverage and market landscape and triage access issues.  Identify trends and develop action plan to increase coverage.
  • Comply with all laws, regulations and policies that govern the conduct of Dompé activities


  • A College degree, MBA or master’s level degree a plus
  • 7 years or more of pharmaceutical (or broader healthcare) commercial experience (with at least 2 years in marketing roles)
  • Recent ophthalmology experience a plus, ideally in anterior segment
  • Experience leading field teams / remote leadership
  • Significant experience with patient access programs
  • Strong reimbursement / payer knowledge
  • A proven track record of self-driven results-oriented work history
  • Understanding of various vehicles for creating insights and understanding behaviors and needs of target audiences
  • The ability to readily take action on challenges with an appropriate level of planning
  • Demonstrated understanding of pharmaceutical legal and regulatory requirements
