AbbVie through various initiatives has created a network of Access and Reimbursement (A&R) support resources to support patients navigating access and financial challenges while initiating AbbVie drug therapy.
US Commercial Business Technology Solutions is seeking to hire an A&R Specialist to identify opportunities and establish A&R resources to help our patients. This position will work with cross-functional teams to define the unmet A&R needs of the patients through their journey and to develop resources to help address A&R barriers that patients face that starting their prescribed therapy. The resource will be an A&R Subject Matter Expert with a good understanding of A&R market landscape which includes hub capabilities, understanding of NCPDP script standards utilized for claims adjudication, electronic prior authorization, electronic prescriptions, and financial assistance options . Combined with this knowledge, the resource will be responsible to manage BTS system and data specific solutions within US Commercial PS BTS organization.

Responsibilities
  • Able to function as SME within A&R area by identifying current and emerging business needs, evaluating alternative products, and investigating available patient access resources in industry. Some illustration includes
    • Leveraging understanding of EMR / eRX systems, ePA systems, Pharmacy systems and processes adopted at providers and payers to reduce patients drug onboarding time.
    • Leveraging understanding of NCPDP telecommunication standards for claims adjudication, SCRIPT standards for eRX, NCPDP SCRIPT ePA transactions to evaluate opportunities for access support resources.
    • Leveraging understanding of copay solutions, coupons offered by companies like GoodRx, FinTech, PayTech and emerging innovative financial support options for patients.
  • Creates A&R use case, opportunities, or resources for channel partners such as Wholesaler, Pharmacy, Hubs.
  • Able to create use case materials, business presentations, requirement documentation, traceability maps. Work as a team player to effectively work across functional teams and identifies interdependencies.
  • Effectively manage communications and expectations with internal and external stakeholders
  • Take accountability to deliver multiple workstreams in parallel, by providing visibility on the status, benefits, costs, and risks.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable AbbVie Policies and procedures.
  • Work with minimal oversight; deliverables and relationships are monitored through periodic reviews.

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and 10-12 years of related work experience. Healthcare or life sciences background preferred.
  • Innovative thinking and the ability to leverage experience to be successful in an entrepreneurial environment.
  • Knowledge of NCPDP telecommunication standards and pharmacy/medical claims adjudication systems and processes
  • Knowledge of NCPDP SCRIPT standards and ePrescribing systems and processes
  • Knowledge of NCPDP SCRIPT standards and ePA systems and processes
  • Knowledge of FinTech, PayTech and emerging innovative financial support options for patients
  • Knowledge of Copay support options, innovative solution providers such as GoodRx
  • Knowledge of innovative pharmacy providers such as Pillpack or Health Brands and Direct to Consumer landscape
  • Experience/knowledge of Reimbursement hub, Patient service model experience, and financial assistance programs.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to building trust, listen, and ask effective questions.
  • Broad knowledge of Information Technology Systems, with strong understanding of the relationship between business processes, applications, databases, operating systems, processing platforms, storage platforms, security systems and networks
  • Proven track record of effective project leadership and positive results. Ability to self-manage time and priorities.
  • Experience leading a team with direct or indirect influence to deliver programs is required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including document proficiency
  • Knowledge and experience in using MS tools
