We are looking for a dedicated scientist who will make substantial contributions in the area of histopathology and immunohistochemistry to support immune-mediated skin disease research within a highly collaborative environment. A primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be in the optimization and validation of new antigen-specific antibodies and application of automated antigen-specific staining paradigms to support ongoing in vitro and in vivo programs in the Dermatology space.

Key tasks will involve:
  • Automated immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization
  • Digital imaging and image analysis to support pathologist-led histopathology assessments of animal and human staining
  • Cutting and generation of high quality pathology slides for staining with H&E, and other agents such as antigen-specific antibodies, and upkeep of accurate and current experimental records.
  • Aid in the development and optimization of new methods/techniques to generate reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with his/her supervisor the candidate will schedule and prioritize workload to manage several tasks simultaneously and identify/utilize resources outside of own group.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Position will be hired based on level of experience.
  • BS or MS in Biology, Pharmacology, Immunology, or a related field with typically 5-7+ (BS), or 2-5+ (MS) years of experience.
  • Technical proficiency in IHC and in situ hybridization methodologies and histotechnologies.
  • Experience with automated systems (autostainers, slide/cassette labelers, slide scanning equipment), microscopy, and image analysis software are desired skills for this position.
  • Highly developed communication skills and keen ability to engage internal and external team members in collaborative research.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to present data clearly and thoroughly in both one-on-one and group meetings.
  • Strong problem-solving skills are required.
  • Must be willing to work as part of a multidisciplinary research team in an exciting, fast-paced environment under the mentorship of a supervisor.
