Job Details

The Quality Director - Strategic Planning & Operations acts as the Chief of Staff, reporting to the Senior Vice President (SVP) of Quality, and serve as a member of the Quality Leadership Team (QLT). This role is responsible for the creation and management of timely delivery of SVP and VP related outcomes. In addition, is integral in enabling Quality effectiveness and efficiency through support of workforce strategy, business analyses and key outcomes management. This individual consistently works with executive management across Quality and requires the utmost confidentiality, as well as the ability to work through ambiguity. This highly visible position will be involved in leadership discussions regarding current and future Quality and business challenges, decisions, and pressing topics across the function.

This role supports Quality in the development, coordination, and evolution of the strategy and planning through strong understanding of the function and customers. In addition, this leader delivers as a meeting manager and thought partner to SVP-level and applicable VP Quality Governance forums. This role leads the preparation and facilitation for various Quality Leadership meetings, as well Quality All-Staff meetings. Responsible to provide leadership for key initiatives and strategic projects across Quality. Uses data and analytics to drive business decisions and summarizes information on key findings for senior leadership.

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development and consolidation of content for monthly spotlight meetings, CEO level requests, as well as the Operations Leadership Team
  • Leader of Productivity, Workforce Modeling, Monthly Business Reviews, monthly reports and critical metrics. As well as budget and headcount management
  • Active participant in the Quality Site Heads and Chief of Staff Networks
  • Leads efficiency efforts for Quality and tracks and communicates target achievement across Quality
  • Responsible for presentation creation from conceptualization to finalization for quarterly Quality business day meetings and annual functional strategic reviews
  • Works with Finance, Quality Senior Leadership, and HR to track Quality headcount against plan
  • Collaborates with Finance on budget setting and tracking
  • Leads yearly Quality goal setting, quarterly progress tracking and running related meetings
  • Owns the preparation for, and running of, Quality Operating Reviews and other key meetings
  • Uses analytics to derive insights and intelligence from data to enable advised decision-making
  • Proactive in consolidating internal information, external research and functional intelligence on strategic trends useful in guiding landscape shift reviews
  • Drafts presentations and communications for the SVP Quality


Basic Qualifications:
  • Doctorate degree and 4 years of Operations experience
  • OR
  • Master's degree and 8 years of Operations experience
  • OR
  • Bachelor's degree and 10 years of Operations experience


Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with information sharing, content management and quantitative techniques for reporting
  • Exposure to data and modeling (for e.g. predictive techniques) for Quality data
  • Overall understanding of business and industry of biotechnology as well as the interfaces of functional leadership for decision-making
  • Ability to drive and facilitate discussions between multiple partners in meeting or workshop settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for getting executive agreement on proposals and communication on behalf of senior leadership respectively
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience acting as a liaison with internal and external teams
  • Career interests for growing within Quality and developing broader skill sets for the next level
