Responsibilities:
  • Understand and adhere to the Promotional Review Process (PRC)
  • Proofread pharmaceutical promotional materials for both consumer and professional audiences
  • Review both digital and print media types
  • Compare original text and images to final approved text and images, using an electronic routing system and online annotations
  • Ensure that all edits have been made and make decisions regarding grammar, accuracy and consistency; does not rewrite copy
  • Follow strict industry and corporate processes and guidelines
  • Manage priorities with flexibility in order to meet swift deadlines
  • Collaborate with marketing and agencies to maintain consistent implementation of the brand and tone of voice
  • Communicate with PRC reviewers to ensure that all language is accurate and in compliance
  • Possesses the ability to work individually for extended periods
  • Understand and proofread against regulatory FDA requirements
  • Provide and speak to metric reporting on proofreader data


Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree (BA/BS) in a related field such as Journalism or Communications
  • 2 years of experience as a proofreader, editor/writer in an agency or corporate environment reviewing technical materials
  • 2 years of experience in medical education, pharmaceutical marketing/advertising, medical publishing or medical communications (may be simultaneous to experience above)
  • Must possess strong attention to detail
  • Ability to swiftly and accurately review complex materials including all graphics, texts, multimedia and web sites
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask effectively, ability to reprioritize project workload quickly
  • Capable of making clear decisions under tight deadlines
  • Experience with electronic routing systems and online annotations
  • Experience in both print and e-media formats
  • Excels in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment and is able to focus and follow guidelines with minimal supervision
  • Ability to meet deadlines under pressure
  • Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills
  • Understanding of medical terminology is a plus
  • Working knowledge of electronic proofing software is a plus
  • Working knowledge of FDA regulations, actions and guidance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
