Purpose:
The Manager, Consolidations, reports to the Director, Consolidations and is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely internal reporting of AbbVie's consolidated results of operations and key product sales on a monthly basis and assisting the Director, Consolidations in managing the global close process.

Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Manager, Consolidations include, but are not limited to:
  • Assisting the Director, Consolidations, in maintaining and publishing AbbVie's global close calendar and managing the global close process. This includes, among other things, coordinating periodic feeds of SAP ledgers into the Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) consolidation system, coordinating the loading of non-SAP ledgers into HFM and supporting the process to map such ledgers, execution of certain monthly close responsibilities and serving as point of contact for AbbVie's high inflation and branch accounting.
  • Preparing and publishing the Monthly Reporting Package (MRP), AbbVie's consolidated internal income statement package, and the Monthly Key Product Sales Report, AbbVie's consolidated internal sales by product package. This includes, among other things, maintaining the underlying reporting models and the execution of underlying processes and coordination of data collection. Attention to detail and accuracy and adherence to established deadlines are critical success factors in this role.
  • Managing the governance and consolidation of specified items (one-time charges) to support the calculation of non-GAAP financial results of operations included in the MRP. This includes performing a monthly detailed review of transactional data to categorize activity appropriately for reporting; working with the business and the Assistant Corporate Controller to facilitate advance approval of specified items and subsequent monitoring for compliance; and assisting with the setup of master data to ensure the approved activity will be captured and reported appropriately.
  • Assisting the Director, Consolidations, and Technical Accounting in facilitating the resolution of Affiliate financial reporting and accounting-related matters. This primarily includes serving as a point of contact for regional FSS finance directors and Technical Accounting on such matters to facilitate the implementation of Technical Accounting's guidance.
  • Preparation and timely submission of certain U.S. government surveys of consolidated AbbVie financial data or disaggregated Affiliate financial data in accordance with the instructions set out by the relevant government agency. This includes ensuring AbbVie's submissions are required, complete, accurate and reconcile to AbbVie's externally reported consolidated results and financial position.
  • Assisting the Director, Consolidations, Tax COE, and Treasury COE in directing and implementing the required accounting for any legal entity changes, reorganizations, mergers, and liquidations. This primarily includes the review of supporting transactional documents to identify the relevant accounting adjustments required; drafting the relevant accounting entries; coordination with FSS to record the relevant entries in the timeframe required; and verify the completeness and accuracy of the recorded entries.
  • Coordinating and managing the process for the collection of selected financial data for certain year end disclosures from Affiliates and US Organizational financial management via the Legal Entity Accounting Package (LEAP). This includes updating and maintaining a standard LEAP template and preparation instructions; conducting annual training for preparers; serving as a point of contact for answering questions; and managing the consolidation of the collected data.
  • Maintaining and executing an effective system of financial reporting and disclosure controls in support of AbbVie's Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance.
  • Coordinating with AbbVie's internal and external auditors for audit and accounting-related requirements.
  • Performing ad hoc financial reporting and analysis and leading special projects or initiatives, as assigned, which vary based on AbbVie's business transactions and priorities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Accounting / Finance. CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience required in accounting or finance roles of increasing responsibility.
  • Prior experience with HFM and SAP preferred but not required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, meet tight timelines and lead multiple projects while balancing competing priorities and customer/stakeholder demands.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and a strong focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and to successfully lead and supervise personnel.
  • Build strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of immediate team to enable higher performance.
