We are seeking a talented and motivatedbioinformaticsscientist to join our LateStage Translational BioinformaticsOncology team within the Translational Bioinformatics group at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS). Thisteamis responsible for applying cutting-edge bioinformatics, statistics, and machine learning methods;working with clinical and large-scale omics data sets from BMS's industry-leading late stage oncology pipeline; influencing development strategies and maximizing values of BMS'sportfolio.This teamof bioinformatics scientists alsohastheexcitingopportunitytomake major contributions tothescientific knowledge ofcancerbiologyandto the improvement oftreatmentforcancer patients.

Responsibilities
  • Engage late stage clinical development team, biomarker scientists,biostatisticiansand others key stakeholders todevelopand execute biomarker data analysisstrategiesfor late stage oncology clinical studies
  • Perform analysis of clinical and biomarker datasets (e.g., large-scale omics datasets includingRNASeq,exome andwholegenomesequencing, single cell sequencing) and derive clinically meaningful interpretations
  • Identify potential biomarkers for patient enrichment strategies and gain mechanistic insights of responses and resistances totreatments
  • Summarize analysis results and report conclusions to BMS decision-making bodies; help communicateconclusions to regulatory agencies andthe broad scientific community
  • Evaluate and adapt latest scientific findings and methods into bioinformatics analysisplans
  • Serve as asubject-matter expertandprovidebioinformatics guidance in cross functional teams
  • Manage alliances and external collaborations


Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in bioinformatics, statistics, biological or physical sciences, or related fields with 8+ years of industry experience. Candidates with less experience will also be consideredat different levels.
  • Demonstrated experienceworking with clinical study data is required; familiar with late stage clinical developmentprocess
  • Deep understanding of disease biologyin oncologyis a strong plus
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, and to handle several concurrent, fast-paced projects while conforming with rigorousrequirements ofclinical studies
  • Broad experience with data generated by one or more high-throughput molecular assays: next-generation sequencing, flow cytometry, mass spectrometry proteomics, etc.
  • Strong experienceusinghigh-level programming languagessuch as R, MATLAB, Python for complex data analysisand reproducible research practices
  • Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills,as well asrigorous and creative thinking
  • Excellentcommunication, data presentation and visualization skills
  • Capable of establishing strong working relationships across the organization
  • Strong publication record
