Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified PhD level scientist to join the Molecular Analytics/Computer-Assisted Drug Design team at Bristol-Myers Squibb. In this role, the selected candidate will use software development techniques, cheminformatics methods and high performance computing resources to drive impacts in therapeutic projects from lead identification through candidate nomination. This position will include development and maintenance of tools focusing on cheminformatics in the early discovery phase of the drug design process as well as cheminformatic data mining, machine learning and workflow development.

Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Computer Science, or Biology with 0-4 years of postdoctoral experience or commensurate career experience.
  • Background in methods for cheminformatics, computational chemistry, computer science, software development, statistical analysis, machine learning or data visualization.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development life cycle, cheminformatics, computer-aided drug design, machine learning and high performance computing.
  • Competency in programming, scripting, systems integration and database required (eg. C, C++, Javascript, Python, R, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, AWS).
  • A history of impact using computational approaches to drive scientific experiment and design.
  • An aptitude and desire to learn and apply new techniques is expected.
  • A basic knowledge of drug discovery processes, medicinal chemistry, biology and ADMET/PK.
  • Personal attributes of integrity, creativity, problem solving, and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team across geographic areas to advance discovery projects under project team time lines.
  • Excellent communication skills are a must.
