Senior Manager, Strategic Communications and Migraine Speaker Bureau, CNS

YOU ARE more than just a title, YOU ARE...
An Internal and External Communicator: Develop and deliver communications which are audience engaging to the CNS franchise and stakeholders
Execution Expert: Owner of speaker management and brand team promotional/educational assets

  • Develop and deliver communications that inform, motivate and align employees by making complex concepts accessible and actionable to internal stakeholders (sales force, commercial and medical teams) across the CNS franchise.
  • Pull through strategic communications campaigns, develop innovative ways to engage employees, write communications, presentations and various touchpoints for the AbbVie CNS franchise.
  • Take full ownership of speaker management for the AbbVie CNS migraine portfolio (CGRP), which includes management of speaker development and placement, communication, content strategy, program logistics, calendar planning, vendor management as well as budget tracking.
  • Work with brand teams (CGRP), develop and pull through of peer to peer promotional and educational assets through medical, legal and regulatory review.
  • Ensure timely execution and production of key deliverables, including speaker training, speaker contracting, product theaters, virtual programs and medical conference booths and presentations (live and remote)
  • Develop relationships with current speakers, as well as cultivate new speaker KOL contacts across the country.


  • Bachelor's degree
  • At least 7 years of relevant experience with a successful track record in pharmaceutical sales and/or marketing
  • Strong analytical and strategic communication skills
  • Previous experience in project management, promotional materials development, healthcare communication / marketing through agency and/or Pharma Consulting roles
  • Experience in supporting strategic communication, education and positioning of products for success within competitive environments
  • Scientific acumen & therapeutic understanding, with the ability to analyze complex datasets
  • Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to develop appropriate investment & support rationale for sales forecasts
  • Experience with launch &/or on-market commercial teams an advantage
  • Experience working within matrix-based teams and project management
  • Works collaboratively and proactively, maintains high degree of planning, coordination & project management skills, demonstrated ability to problem solve & resolve conflict with diplomacy
  • Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functional partners outside of immediate team
  • Self-starter, learns fast, quickly grasps the essence of concepts, can change course rapidly where required, demonstrates intellectual curiosity
  • Open to suggestion & experimentation for improvement, embraces ideas from others, encourages innovation but matches innovation to reality
