Responsibilities:
  • The Associate Director plays a key role in developing and implementing the US Medical strategy for Immunoscience (IMS) (Main responsibility will be for Ozanimod, but may also work on other assets)
  • Establishes and maintain interactions with external medical and scientific experts to assess unmet medical needs in order to develop an appropriate medical strategy
  • Interacts and maintains relationships with the medical matrix (particularly field medical, global medical, and Medical Capabilities), physician leaders and researchers, payers and advocacy groups and other external and internal customers to implement the US IMS strategy
  • Collaborates with functional areas outside of medical including marketing, sales, access, legal, regulatory, clinical operations, and research and development. This position supports the development and execution of the medical plan to ensure that strategies, objectives and tactics are aligned across the medical matrix and integrated with the strategic brand plan
  • Coordinates and leads multiple medical activities including clinical study support, scientific advisory boards, congress support, medical training of BMS employees, training of external speakers, competitive intelligence, publications and post marketing trials. These interactions will occur via teleconference as well as via live face-to-face meetings, for which the Director/AD would be expected to spend approximately 25% of their time in the field.


Qualifications:
  • We are looking for a highly organized and motivated individual with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and initiatives
  • Research, Scientific Knowledge, or Clinical experience in the area of Neurology, Gastroenterology, and/or Immunology is desirable
  • The successful candidate must have the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams, have excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written and have an MD, PharmD, NP, PhD, or other advanced scientific degree with 3-5 years of industry experience
  • He or she should have an understanding of pharmaceutical drug development including; clinical development, regulatory, life cycle management of pharmaceutical products, and knowledge of thought leaders in the field
  • Desirable qualities include experience in working as a project member of a multi-functional team and proven ability to managing complex interactions and gaining alignment of stakeholders.
  • The ideal candidate will have clinical expertise, and some relevant experience in the immunoscience area within the pharmaceutical industry, such as within Medical Affairs or Clinical Development
