This is a permanent laboratory position in a protein biochemistry group involved in the characterization of the protein therapeutics. The position will be responsible for routine analysis of the therapeutic candidate samples to determine kinetic and binding characteristics.
A Typical Day in the Role Might Look Like:
The job responsibilities include following standard analytical methods for the characterization of protein therapeutics and protein impurities.Chacterization methods include ELISA, SDS-PAGE, Western blot, CE-SDS, binding kinetics by SPR and/or BLI. The individual will document all analytical work in electronic laboratory notebook according to a defined method and provide documentation to the supervisor. The individual may perform protein purifications, modification and method development as necessary.
This Job Might Be For You If You Possess:
A BS/MS with 0-2 years of protein purification, modification and characterization experience. Experienced in the general operations of a laboratory and be able to manage and organize data with minimal supervision. The individual should possess fundamental technical competencies in key analytical protein methodologies such as SDS-PAGE, western blotting, ELISA, size exclusion chromatography, UV-Vis spectrosphotometry, and protein purification. Experience working with kinetic and binding assays using SPR or BLI technologies is a plus. Familiarity with electronic Lab notebook (ELN) and laboratory practices regarding notebook documentation is desirable.
