Job Details

The Manager, Sampling is responsible for oversight and management of business processes, support personnel, data analysis and training related to Product Sampling. The responsibilities of this role also include oversight of Avanir employee activities, 3rd Party Supplier activities and others responsible for the allocation, distribution, reconciliations and returns of Sample Product.

This role is responsible for ensuring the timely accurate reconciliation of Representatives Inventory and Direct to Physician shipments. Also responsible for ensuring Product samples are provided to licensed healthcare providers with appropriate specialties. The role is responsible for the review and analysis of all pertinent Sampling documentation to ensure completeness. In addition, this role is responsible for the active oversight of each related sampling process and third-party supplier performance. This role is responsible for other duties as otherwise directed by management.

This role will also be responsible for HCP and HCO FFS (Fee for Service) business process management, analysis, training and ensuring accurate review and analysis of all pertinent FFS documentation for completeness, accuracy and ensure certification. In addition, this individual will train users on processes and be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with contracted HCP and HCO.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Overall responsibility for activities related to product sampling including but not limited to sample shipments to Avanir sales employees, direct shipments to HCPs, inventory reconciliations, storage facilities inspections, transfers and returns.

 


Sampling and PDMA Responsibilities :

 

 

  • Monitors, reviews and audits 3rd Party supplier performance.
  • Refers for investigation all matters that could potentially violate laws, regulations or Avanir Policy.
  • Responsible for process oversight, accuracy of data analysis and completion.
  • Represents Avanir by partnering with vendors to ensure deliverables, and third-party supplier meets other requirements including compliance guidelines and Prescription Drug Marketing Act Regulations (PDMA).
  • Responsible for the on-time delivery of reports required by federal requirements.
  • Collaborates cross functionally to provide process improvement feedback including UAT participation, providing input and recommendations.
  • Work cross functionally to serve as the field & home office subject matter expert for all questions related to product sampling
  • Implements and enforces Service Level Agreements with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Conducts ongoing oversight and audits the sampling processes.
  • Ensures all data is captured, up-to-date and performs reporting requirements including data validation analysis and ensures accuracy and completion.
  • Establish work standards that are aligned with Avanir's corporate culture, vision, and values. Adheres to company standards for personal honesty, integrity, trust, respect and accountability. Perform all responsibilities in accordance with Avanir policies and procedures and applicable state and federal rules and regulations.
  • Other ad hoc duties as assigned.

  • HCP/HCO Business Process Management and Analysis

 

  • Leads engagement process with HCPs and HCOs, generating contract for HCP or HCO FFS engagement purposes ensuring all activities are monitored, evaluated, tracked and validated for compliance certification.
  • Monitors, reviews and audits funding support requests; facilitates, and reviews items such as exhibits and booths ensuring documentation and data gathered is accurate.
  • Responsible for HCP/HCO process oversight and and accuracy of data analysis and completion.
  • Ensures HCP/HCO contracting process aligns with Avanir's policy and procedure.
  • Work cross functionally to serve as the Field & Home Office subject matter expert for all questions related to the HCP/HCO engagement process, Commercial funding support and Speaker Bureau program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education/ Qualifications:

 

 

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • At least 8 years of experience in analytical role or similar disciplines.
  • Pharmaceutical experience and knowledge of the PDMA required

Physical Requirements:

This position primarily works in an office environment. It requires the ability to sit or stand for long periods of time and frequent walking. Daily use of a computer, phone, office equipment and other computing and digital devices is required. May be required to stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel may be necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver's license and/or effectively navigate public transportation is required. While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee must be able to read and respond to interoffice communications as well as effectively participate in meetings. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers, to lift up to 20 lbs., pull, push, carry, handle or feel. The employee is required to carry, handle items, reach with arms and hands, to stoop, kneel, or crouch; talk or hear. Mental demands may require prolonged concentration, reading comprehension, understanding and interpretation of concepts, ideas and philosophies.
