The Senior Director, US and Global Commercial Business Planning and Analysis (BPA) leads a team of ~5 BPAs responsible for business partnering, performance management and financial planning and analysis across the US and Global Commercial and Medical Affairs functions. The Senior Director will manage the financial interface with Pharma Regions that commercialize Zolgemsma ex-US/EMEA.

Responsibilities
  • Leads the commercial BPA team supporting the Novartis Gene Therapies US and Global commercial and medical teams.
  • Is a member of the Global Commercial Forum (GLF) and the Global Pricing Steering Committee (GSPC) and US Commercial Leadership Team (USLT).
  • Partners with commercial and medical teams to establish robust forecasts for Budget, Latest Outlook, S&OP and Strat Plan.
  • Partners with CFO and business partners to steer commercial and medical resources to fully align with Novartis Gene Therapies strategy and maximize top and bottom-line performance.
  • Proactively manages performance to meet financial objectives and avoid surprises.
  • Drives productivity initiatives with commercial and medical business partners to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Oversees the management of the financial interface (planning, reporting and performance management) with Pharma Regions that commercialize Zolgensma ex-US/EMEA.
  • Provides thoughtful leadership and influence through deep analytical insight into core business decisions and clear communication of complex issues, partnering with CFO on executive-level decision making.
  • Collaborates with FRA to ensure revenue recognition policy (in particular with regard to Outcome Based Contracts and Deferred Revenue) is in line with the NAM.
  • Oversees Healthcare Provider payment tracking and US government pricing reporting.
  • Maintains strong knowledge of all relevant compliance policies (i.e. Code of Conduct, CIA, Data Privacy, SOX, etc.) and ensure compliance in all job activities.

Qualifications
  • BS/BA Degree. MBA and/or CPA desirable.
  • Minimum 10 years' Finance experience or 8 years' interal biotech/pharmaceutical experience preferably supporting and partnering with the Commercial department from a finance perspective.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent planning and organization skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills commensurate with the need to work closely with all departments and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to maintain the highest degree of confidentiality and integrity, represent the company's high ethics, moral behavior, and professionalism.
