Environmental Health and Safety Manager - Irvine, CA

*YOU ARE more than just a title, YOU ARE... accountable for the development and management of assigned EHS programs and processes that identify, evaluate and control hazards inherent in the pharmaceutical research and development activities. This position's efforts will be key in maintaining full compliance with all federal, state, local regulations and AbbVie EHS requirements and programs to continually improve EHS performance.
YOU WILL:
Excel as the facilities safety expert. Establish and implement site level standard operating procedures based on EHS requirements. You will create, promote, administer and review EHS related programs. You will be responsible and accountable for ensuring that the facility is in full compliance with federal, state, local and Corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) requirements, rules and regulations.
Be the lead investigator . You will be accountable for the effective resolution of noncompliance events, environmental releases, work-related injuries and illnesses if/when they occur, including determination of systemic causes, and corrective and preventive actions. You will work with the site EHS team to ensure employees are properly trained on EHS related topics as required by federal, state, local and AbbVie rules and regulations.

Qualifications
YOU BRING:
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's degree
- CSP and/or CIH certification preferred
- A minimum of 10 years in discipline, 15 year preferred.
- Able to work across business units and navigate organizational structures to achieve consistent and full compliance with federal, state and local EHS regulations and internal AbbVie policies to ensure compliance and programs/metrics to drive continuous EHS performance improvement.
- Strong industry and professional network to stay abreast of upcoming regulations and best practices.
- Ability to interact professionally and competently with widely variable internal customers and regulatory agency personnel.
