Job Details

Precision BioSciences is seeking a Research Associate whose primary focus will be running flow cytometry within the Cell Therapy Development Team. The Research Associate will provide bioanalytical support for Clinical Sample Analysis and Cell Therapy Process Development projects and will contribute to bioanalytical development efforts for CAR T-cell projects by providing sample preparation and analysis in a timely manner.

  • Isolate and characterize leukocytes from human peripheral blood
  • Prepare isolated leukocytes for analysis by flow cytometry
  • Prepare nucleic acid samples from isolated leukocytes
  • Cytokine analysis of human plasma samples
  • Perform aseptic mammalian primary or secondary cell culture, cryopreserve and manage cell inventory
  • Multicolor flow cytometry assay execution and analysis
  • Cell based assay execution and analysis
  • Execute established assays and analyze generated data according to established SOPs and report results of analysis to Cell Therapy Team Leaders on a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with Cell Therapy Team Leaders to plan experiments that need to be carried out to achieve Precisions goals for developing T Cell Therapies
  • Coordinate with team members to plan and carry out experiments to achieve Precisions goals for developing T Cell Therapies
  • Work collaboratively on aspects of experiments to be performed by other members of the team as part of a larger ongoing experiment
  • Assist in general operation of the Cell Culture facility
  • Involves some work during off-peak hours when project demands dictate. This will include occasional weekends, holidays, and/or evenings.
  • Coordinate with group leaders to ensure the following:
    • SOPs are written and updated for techniques and assays
    • Equipment is properly maintained
    • Consumables are ordered and stocked as needed
    • Cells and other reagents are available for experiments as needed

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully.

Required:
  • BS in cell & molecular biology, immunology or related field with 2+ years of related biopharmaceutical industry experience and/or training, or MS in cell & molecular biology, immunology or related field; or equivalent education and training
  • Familiarity with T cell biology
  • Extensive experience with antibody-based assays (Flow cytometry and ELISA)
  • Experience in handling and analysis of cells, antibodies, and nucleic acids
  • Demonstrated experience with multiparameter flow cytometric analysis
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Able to work some evenings/weekends as needed

Preferred:
  • Hands-on experience with immune cell activation and characterization assays such as multi- parameter flow cytometry, ELISA, ELISpot, Luminex, or MSD
  • Experience with primary T cell culture, expansion and characterization
  • Proficiency with FlowJo, Prism, and Microsoft office applications

Travel Requirements
  • Minimal travel is required for this position. Opportunities to participate in conferences, seminars and workshops will be available and encouraged.
