As part of the Amgen's Manufacturing Operations organization, our Amgen Woburn Manufacturing (AWM) site manufactures oncolytic virus based end-to-end drug substance and drug products for the global market. As such we continuously strive to be a leader in detailed execution to ensure we deliver our medicines to every patient, every time. The Senior Manager, Maintenance leads all aspects of utilities operations, site-wide maintenance, and equipment engineering activities at the AWM manufacturing site. The Senior Manager will ensure fulfillment of a safe, compliant, effective, efficient, and cost appropriate operations & maintenance programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and technical expertise to a team of approximately 5 to 12 front-line managers, technicians, and equipment engineers to support 24/7 manufacturing operations
  • Ensure activities are accomplished in safe manner in accordance with cGMP requirements and expectations
  • Provide leadership to continuously improve execution strategies throughout the site and across all shifts
  • Effectively collaborate with key customers and support groups regarding operations and maintenance activities and strategies
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve equipment reliability and minimize impact of maintenance activities to ongoing operations
  • Provide 24/7 field support to troubleshoot, identify, and resolve equipment issues


Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 2 years of Maintenance or Operations experience

OR

Master's degree and 6 years of Maintenance or Operations experience

OR

Bachelor's degree and 8 years of Maintenance or Operations experience

OR

Associate's degree and 10 years of Maintenance or Operations experience

OR

High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Maintenance or Operations experience

AND

2 Previous managerial experience directly managing people and/or experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 6+ years' experience in engineering or maintenance within the biotechnology and/or pharmaceutical industry
  • 3+ years leadership experience
  • 3+ years' experience of ensuring compliance in a highly regulated environment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and facilitation skills and ability to work in a collaborative team-based environment
  • Ability to apply analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex problems using multiple sources of information
  • Ability to lead multiple tasks and effectively set priorities
  • Proven skill in goal setting and driving continuous improvement through setting and monitoring of key metrics
  • Extensive knowledge of electro-mechanical, fluid, and gas equipment and systems
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management, utilities operations programs, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems
  • Demonstrated skill in analyzing and improving facilities related quality systems
